Remembering Brian Hall & Jerry "Nikko" Cooke

How sad that there is no closure.
It must make the acceptance of death even harder. My prayers will be with you as you plan the memorial service and try to go on with your lives. Knowing Brian is with God, gives comfort and some peace. May God continue to show you His love and peace through this hard time.

I have been keeping up with this story, and have cried so many times. Cried again when I saw the memorial announced. I agree it's so hard to understand. These good men did nothing wrong. It doesn't seem fair. But, I have watched Karen on the evening news. She has such peace about Kelly that it actually helps me. I pray Brian and Jerry's families have the same. I also pray for Brian and Jerry. Because even though it seems impossible I know if it's God's will he can still bring them off that mountain alive. So that's why until they are found otherwise I intend to keep praying for a miracle. If that happens it will be on his schedule;as someone at my church said about a sick loved one maybe we stop praying too soon. But if it was his will to take all of them now,I pray he will allow them to be found soon. I will continue praying for families to have every need filled, and that they have peace and joy in knowing someday they'll be together again only forever this time. I mentioned Karen before but I also have to mention Frank he has truly been a blessing also. MAY GOD HOLD EACH OF YOU AND GUIDE YOU IN ALL OF YOUR FUTURES.

Today while surfing channels, I saw that another search is underway on Mt. Hood for hikers. This brought your three family members to my mind and as I lay here and can't sleep, I searched for information on them.

Having been on vacation in August of 2000 to visit my husband's forest ranger brother in Oregon, one of our first places to visit was Mt. Hood. It was a huge example of God's wonderous creation of nature. Just standing at Timberline Lodge I believe leaves every one with the craving to climb and take in the beauty from the mountaintop. The loss of your loved ones brought to mind the song "Go Rest High on that Mountain" (Vince Gill) and I know that even though two vessels remain there, their souls have taken flight from a higher plane and they are watching over their loved ones. God Bless You all...I pray that soon the closure will bring some solace to you all.

I ask my husband every week if he has heard anything about the lost hikers. It touched me and hurt my heart to imagine the grief you all must feel. I hope you find peace in God and life. I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep watching in hopes that they are found to give you some peace. Your friend, Laura

I just read about the searches that are planned.I hope and pray that Brian and Jerry are found. And that their families have peace and comfort in knowing that in HEAVEN there is no pain or fear.I have prayed and prayed that they would be found.I have also continued to pray for all 3 families.I have read on Brian's website next week is his birthday.I hope his family and friends are able to have a day he would want for them.I thought it was very thoughtful what was done for Kelly.I don't know when Jerry's is.I just wish somehow God would bring them home alive.I truly hope one day to meet them all in HEAVEN.GOD LEAD US ALL.

A number of former UCONN guys who lived in Lancaster Hall with Brian and myself who played soccer there with him, were thinking of him the other night when we all got together for the first time in 15 years. We had fond memories of him. Our prayers are with you - the Lancaster Hall guys from 1987-1989.

After learning of the 3 missing climbers and watching all the TV coverage, I have never missed saying a pray daily, and will continue to do so until the recovery of Brian and Nikko. I hope God blesses all 3 families with answers soon.
